Inspiration:
The Voyager collection celebrates my childhood exploration of craft through local museums. New England is saturated with artifacts from around the globe, and my upbringing here allowed me to view many intricate works.
The creature series is inspired by the myriad of fantasy novels I read throughout my childhood. Obsessed with magic and myths, younger me would pick up any book featuring a dragon, Griffin, unicorn, or the like. Spiders appear in many myths. Surrounded by Greek classics, I first think of Arachne: an unbelievable crafter who is driven to death and then turned into a spider by the goddess Athena. I've made many pieces inspired by Greek tragedies, but as a crafter, the Arachne myth has always struck a chord.
